On 1st June 2013, Kris Foundation presented The Majestic Piano - Miyuki Washimiya plays Emperor and Grieg Concertos at the School of the Arts Concert Hall. Following her well-received performances with the Kris Foundation in 2009, 2011 and 2012, Japanese pianist Miyuki Washimiya returned to Singapore for her concerto debut with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra. This concert was also the inaugural performance of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, Singapore’s first fully-independent professional orchestra.
As part of our ethos, Kris Foundation is constantly on the lookout for innovative musicians and groups. We were happy to support a new orchestra in line with our vision to make classical music more accessible and enjoyable for the local audience. Maestro Chan Tze Law is one of the most respected conductors in Singapore and has in uenced a whole generation of Singaporean musicians at both professional and amateur levels. He has a vision and leadership that continues to inspire the next generation of creative practitioners in Singapore.
